To celebrate Cecil County's tercentenary in 1974, Ernest A. Howard,
compiled an "
Almanac of Cecil County Maryland
." His publication, following several years of patient research, presented a listing of important
events and dates in the County's long history. He hoped the results would be valuable as "a historical record and useful as a ready reference for questions of fact." The work, which has been out-of-print for
some time now, is electronically republished here. The reader will found that Mr. Howard identified an important Cecil County event for each day of the year.
