Workshop: How to Preserve Your Ancestors…the care and collecting of family photographs.
Family photographs are irreplaceable heirlooms that document you and your ancestors for future generations. Often, popular commercial storage techniques cause more harm then good, permanently damaging prints and destroying your family’s link to the past. Join the Historical Society’s Manager of Collections Eric Jodlbauer in a workshop highlighting the dos and don’ts in caring for family photographs. Identification, environment, organization and storage techniques of images from daguerreotypes to digital photographs will be discussed, preparing you to arrange the ideal storage solution for your family’s collection. The discussion will be followed by a consultation period with Eric to help you personalize a storage solution that best meets the needs of your collection.
